As one of the pioneers of alt metal, Faith No More combined heavy hip hop-spired rhythms with chunky metal guitarwork to create a wholly unique style. But since Mike Patton joined the band in the late 80s, FNM has evolved into one of the most interesting and diverse rock bands of all time. These guys are legendary, simple as that. Not to mention some of Patton's onstage antics teeter into criminal activity territory.

We all know Patton from Faith No More and Mr. Bungle (and his million other side projects, honestly), but Peeping Tom was the one time he tried mainstream pop music. Or at least his version of it, which of course sounds like no one else and could barely be considered pop music. A litany of guests are on here, too (Dan the Automator, Kool Keith, Norah Jones, Massive Attack). A bit dated in spots, but a great album still worth revisiting.

Known, among other reasons, for being underground legend Mike Patton’s first band, Mr. Bungle was one of the most unpredictable, insane, and brilliant groups to ever exist. Cramming 40 different genres into one song was normal for these guys and their musicianship was (and is) among the best in the world. They reunited in 2019 with Scott Ian of Anthrax and Dave Lombardo of Slayer to re-record their first demo. There is no prep for these guys—you just have to jump in.
